Under the Stones
A play under the stones (Japanese: ishi-no-shita) is a play in a space which has become free because some of your own stones have been captured. Other than in nakade or throw-ins, an Under the Stones tesuji is executed by a strategy to sacrifice a group of stones that leads to a shape that can be captured back after the opponent captured the sacrificing stones.
