guile: @Violetta : it is perfectly ok to feel this way, but collecting knowledge - of this tesuji and this position - could improve your understanding of the game and you should keep an open mind in this regard. I think the answer of Caranthir strongly express this positive attitude, more than a thousand examples :) .
caranthir: Are you thinking along the lines of S2T3T4R1S1T2Q1. It doesn't provide as much raw liberties as @guile's answer but there is a ko, and therefore an undetermined amound of liberties depending on what and how many threats there are and what we are willing to possibly ignore. To me, it still seems kind of unrealistic in most situations unless the outside stones are sufficiently low on liberties so that the ko is more direct for both ways in a semeai. I refer the final answer to this to @guile.
Sadaharu: I think the phrase “how many liberties did you provide” is a bit vague because it sounds like how many liberties are added compared to another shape. Maybe just say how many liberties the shape has?
