caranthir: I took a quick glance at the problem adapted to 19x19. The funny thing is that (F10, G11,) D10 is still strongly preferred over D11 by Katago. (Also, F10, G11 is still not very good in the first place. Instead, F10, E10). [I wrote the coordinates here as if the board were 13x13, but imagine a 19x19 board with the additional space].
Now I don't know what should be done with this point of view. We could either modify the setup, or not modify the setup but add alternative sequences, or regard the Katago suggestions as just something like "didactically/practically problematic AI variations" and forget about them. Although they might be didactically problematic (in an elementary collection), they should not be that difficult for more advanced players. The key takeaway (even on 19x19) seems to be that the opponent's shape is so problematic that she shouldn't cling too tightly to the H10, H11 stones but treat them as light at least for the time being. This is at least something that a more astute observer can think about, even if we let the problem be as is.
caranthir: Joguar has a point, though it's not entirely hopeless for the opponent - we have problems too. 1) However, D10C12 isn't the best. D10 should be answered with C11; after that, D11, leading to a trade where we get the D12 stone and the corner while sacrificing the G9 group; that seems like the most fair continuation for both players. 2) Joguar's D10 is better than D11 (continuing after F10G11). The opponent should, in order to punish D11, aim to sacrifice the G11 group and get the side - quite profitable for her. We really should play D10 instead. 3) Thusly, it seems that this problem should *at least* be resetted on a 19x19 board as Ivan already pointed out, or alternatively, modify the sequences. 4) By the way (as a larger moral of the story), G11 as an aswer to F10 is already a mistake at the very beginning. The opponent should sacrifice H10, H11. They look like key stones, of course, but as the overall shape is trash, they should not be connected after F10, but instead F10, E10 and then forcing from the outside. The problem is (after F10) about punishing the opponent for not sacrificing H10, H11.
Ivan Detkov: I strongly believe that this is 19x19 board problem. Close corner messes up.
15kyugo: Should the hint be separate instead of connect?
caranthir: I think the basic meaning of the author is "play shape" (and keep it connected if practical). I think "connect" is a misleading hint. I'll just remove any hints for now. EDIT: oh, prior to this, Ivan already added a hint when a hint had been requested. Heck, I'll make it "shape". It's vague anyway. Arguably anything that works well could be called "good shape", even empty triangles when they get the job done. EDIT2: I amended the hint a bit.
