jsbrucker: I guess my linked pattern doesn't actually show the state I thought it would. In the state shown in my prior comment, white has just played into atari. If black caputres the stone, white is immediately in atari again and can't save the stone. If black captures it (they have to because the stone they just played would be in atari) then all of their stones are alive with 4 (1 stone) eyes.
Unless I'm missing something
jsbrucker: This feels like a valid pattern, no matter what white does after Q1, black can play Q3 and everything lives (unless there is a bigger Ko threat elsewhere on the board. But this way saves the 2 stone group on P2 and P3.
What am I missing?
